This walk touches on three main points that still remind us of the ancient and prosperous Nasrid Kingdom of Andalusia. Embark on a captivating journey through time as you unveil historical remains, immersing yourself in the past of this enchanting Mediterranean town. You will learn about the old flourishing “Patio de los Naranjos”, the marvellous Alcazaba and the mighty Gibralfaro Castle.
After having visited the Alcazaba, you can reach the castle from the uphill street close to the Alcazaba entrance in Juan Temboury Street.
It is possible to buy a combo ticket for Alcazaba and Gibralfaro directly at the Alcazaba ticket office (link here):
The Alcazaba and the Castle are not far from each other, but it’s a steep climb up, taking around 15-20 minutes, well worth the effort for the views. However, due to the steepness of the trail, for those wishing to take the bus, it is possible to go down and then take the number 35 that will lead you up the breathtaking view of the castle.
