Embark on a captivating journey as we traverse the enchanting island of Paros, following in the footsteps of Byzantine Empire along the fabled Byzantine Trail. This thematic hike invites you to unravel the rich tapestry of Paros’ history and culture, immersing yourself in a virgin landscape in the heart of the island. From the rise of the Byzantine Empire to the lifestyle that once thrived on the island, we will uncover the island’s breathtaking views along this ancient pathway. Prepare to be enchanted by scenic views and architectural remnants of the Byzantine era, up to early 20th century constructions that blend with the landscape and illustrate the inhabitants’ inextricable bond with the land.
This itinerary covers sections of unpaved paths/trails, even uphill, so comfortable clothes, hiking shoes and enough water and food are recommended (don’t forget sunscreen for the summer months!).
